WESTBROOK, Maine — A man was found dead in a Westbrook apartment on Tuesday, and police are investigating the death as suspicious.
Westbrook police responded to Apartment 6 at 79 Mechanic Street shortly before 1:45 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a call requesting help, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a release Wednesday.
When Westbrook police got to the scene, they found a dead man, and officials deemed the man's death suspicious, Moss said. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit was called in to assist.
The man's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Moss said an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.
