WESTBROOK, Maine — A man from Westbrook has been charged arson and aggravated criminal mischief after a house fire Tuesday night.
The Westbrook Fire Department was called to a home on Bridgton Road (Route 302) around 5:15 p.m., Westbrook police said in a release Wednesday.
The Westbrook Fire Department was able to quickly contain and extinguish the flames, and there were no injuries, the release stated.
Westbrook police identified Raikuez Melchoirre, 47, as a suspect and arrested him, officials said. He was also arrested on two unrelated warrants, according to the release.
Melchoirre was taken to the Cumberland County Jail, police said.
