(NEWS CENTER) — If you see "Wessie," tell her to go home.
Wessie the Westbrook snake, fresh off its debut on Twitter and recent out-for-breakfast sighting, is now being beckoned home by an alleged owner through a folk song.
The tribute was posted as a video on YouTube Saturday by Portland-based rock band and film production company Drivetrain Productions.
Through a Facebook post, Drivetrain explains it found the owner of the snake who wanted to express his sorrow in a song. So, the production company took up the task.
As for Wessie's reaction… look no further than Twitter, because, well, that's obviously how a snake communicates with social-media crazed humans:
I'm speechlessssss!!!! A song about little ole me!!! Thank you random, Maine singer/songwriter! https://t.co/nFVMRsYnZT

"I'm speechlessssss," Wessie said, thanking the singer and songwriter while jokingly suggesting the song could be worthy of a Grammy Award.
Wessie made no comment about its connection with the alleged owner, which appears to be a fairly one-sided relationship.
