WESTBROOK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - - Maine State Police need your help solving the 1987 cold case of a 23-year-old woman found dead in her apartment.
Police said Alice Hawkes' body was discovered on October 4, 1987, in the Westbrook apartment, she shared with her boyfriend.
According to the Major Crime unit, on October 3, 1987, her boyfriend went to town to take care of some errands and upon return says he was locked out of their residence. "He spent the night with friends and the next day he called the landlord to let him in the apartment." Police said the landlord and boyfriend found Hawkes' body inside.
Alice was part of a large family in Bangor and attended the University of Southern Maine. At the time of her death, she was working at the former Maine Savings Bank in Portland.
