WASHINGTON COUNTY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Washington County Sheriff's Office is in mourning over the unexpected death of one of their own.

41-year-old Chief Deputy Shawn Donahue was in the car with his family when he had a heart attack on Saturday. He was unable to be revived.

During his 19-year career in law enforcement, Chief Deputy Donahue held many administrative and patrol positions, including Chief of Police of the Baileyville Police Department.

He became Chief Deputy of the Washington County Sheriff's Office in January 2013.

A service will be held for Chief Donahue on Thursday afternoon at the Washington County Community College gym in Calais at 1:00.
