The vehicle traveled several hundred feet down the river, Kennebunk Fire-Rescue said.

KENNEBUNK, Maine — Several crews have successfully recovered a vehicle that was swept downriver from a boat launch in Kennebunk after it went into the water.

Kennebunk Fire-Rescue said on social media Wednesday night their crews, along with the Kennebunk Police Department, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and Chandler's Automotive and Towing, worked together to recover a vehicle that drifted downriver after it went into the water at the Mousam River Boat Launch.

The vehicle reportedly traveled several hundred feet down the Mousam River.

Images included with the social media post showed a vehicle submerged nearly up to its roof. Crews were pictured in a small boat responding to the vehicle and assessing from the riverbank.
