Vehicle crashes into building in York

The building sustained structural damage as a result of the crash, officials said.

YORK, Maine — Officials responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a building Wednesday in York.

The York Fire Department said on Facebook that the incident happened at 764 U.S. Route 1, which is the location of a building that appears to house several businesses including York Family Eyecare. 

After arriving at the scene, Assistant Chief David Apgar with the fire department confirmed a vehicle hit a building.

The building sustained structural damage as a result of the crash, the post stated.

Apgar reportedly requested a representative with the Code Enforcement Office to respond to the scene.

In total, 13 firefighters and fire officers responded.

No additional details were released.
