UPDATE: A judged ruled 21-year-old Jalique Keene be held without bail and impounded the court documents pertaining to the case. Family members of Keene and Conley attended, but did not wish to speak to NEWS CENTER Maine.
ELLSWORTH (NEWS CENTER Maine) – The man accused of murdering a Bar Harbor teen is set to make his first court appearance in Hancock County Wednesday morning.
21-year-old Jalique Keene of Bar Harbor is charged in connection to the murder of 19-year-old Mikaela Conley.
Conley’s body was found by a Maine State Police K9 Saturday in a wooded area She was first reported missing by her family on Friday.
The two were both students at MDI High School where Keene was a football player from 2010-2014.
It is still unclear what Conley and Keene were doing that night. Police are not releasing a cause of death at this time.
The community remembers Conley as a creative and enthusiastic young woman who worked at a local bakery and whose family ran the 2 Cats Inn and Restaurant in town.
Keene is being held at Hancock County Jail without bail.
