HIRAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A community is coming together after weekend car crash killed two Sacopee Valley High School graduates.

The Oxford County Sheriff's Office said just before 2 a.m. Saturday, a 17-year old lost control of his car and struck two utility poles. A witness said the car hit the pole so hard, it split in half. The driver was injured, but a 19-year old Isaac Moore, of Parsonfield, and 18-year old Andrew Stanley, of Porter, were killed. All three were recent graduates from Sacopee Valley High School. A 16-year old passenger remains in the hospital following crash and he's a current student.

This tragedy comes on the heels of the 1-year anniversary of 16-year old Lexi Valente's fatal car crash. Valente was also a student at Sacopee Valley.

Mark Call runs the local Shop'n Save, and said when one family is hurt, the entire community feels it. That's why he and his daughter decided to host a vigil, and collect money for the families of the victims.

As a former deputy, Call is also working with area law enforcement and school officials to start up a safe driving program for the area, which will also be a part of the discussion with students this week.

The school opened over the weekend for anyone needing help through their grief. This week there are extra counselors on hand, as school officials try to keep the school day as normal as possible.
