Jury selection will begin Thursday morning in Somerset County Superior Court in Skowhegan. Once completed, the trial will likely get underway on Monday.

Valerie's husband, Luc Tieman, told police that he last saw her in a Walmart parking lot in Skowhegan. He claimed she was in the truck while he was inside shopping, and when he came out she was nowhere to be found. He did not report her missing to police at the time.

An autopsy report detailed how Valerie Tieman's body was found. A bag of potato chips, a bottle of perfume and a note that reportedly had an 'apologetic tone' were all discovered with her body in a shallow grave. It was determined that she died from gunshot wounds to the head and neck.
Luc Pleads 'Not Guilty'
