FAIRFIELD, Maine — Police are investigating a crash that left three people severely injured in Fairfield on Sunday afternoon.
Fairfield first responders were called to the intersection of Norridgewock Road and Middle Road at 1:38 p.m. for a two-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment, according to a news release from the Fairfield Police Department.
An initial investigation revealed a 2018 Chevy Equinox driven by 18-year-old Klay Dunning of Chesterville was headed south on Norridgewock Road and was passing a vehicle in the opposite lane when it struck a 2018 Hyundai Elantra driven by 38-year-old Jared Peaslee of Fairfield headed north, police said. Also in Jared Peaslee's vehicle was 41-year-old Marietta Peaslee of Fairfield.
Jared Peaslee and Dunning were brought to Maine General Medical Center by ambulance and Marietta Peaslee was brought by LifeFlight, according to police.
An investigation remains ongoing.
The Waterville Fire Department, Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton Police Department, Clinton Fire Department, and Delta Ambulance assisted.
