WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) - A Newton man has pleaded not guilty to playing a role in the killing of a Waltham High School senior and varsity wrestling captain.
Taylor Poulin was arraigned Thursday in Waltham District Court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlicensed possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. He was ordered held on $500,000 bail.
The 21-year-old Poulin is one of two men facing charges in connection with the March 20 shooting death of 17-year-old Tyler Zanco.
An arrest warrant affidavit says Zanco was shot when he and two friends attempted to rob Poulin, believing he cheated Zanco's cousin in a marijuana deal. The alleged shooter, a 22-year-old Belmont man, remains at large.
Poulin was tracked down in Windham, Maine several days after the shooting.
