WOODSTOCK, Maine — A suspect has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon along Route 26 in Woodstock.
Ethan Rioux Poulios was taken into custody at about 10 a.m. in West Paris by Maine State Police troopers and deputies from the Oxford County Sheriff's Office, Maine Public Safety spokesperson Steve McCausland said.
Poulios is accused of being the driver of car that hit another from behind, causing that car to lose control and overturn, killing a male who had yet to be identified.
The vehicle Poulios was allegedly driving left the scene and was later found in Woodstock with no driver. Troopers and deputies' search for a driver lasted about 18 hours, ending with the suspect's arrest Tuesday.
McCausland referred to the county sheriff's office for further information, requests for which weren't immediately returned.
Route 26 was closed for about six hours from Cushman Road near Bryant Pond to Andrews Road in South Woodstock. It reopened around 9:30 p.m.
