SOUTH PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- A Hannaford warehouse in South Portland is too close for comfort to a trailer that caught fire while attached to the building.
Firefighters were alerted to the situation at 54 Hannaford St. around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. By 10:30 a.m the fire was extinguished.
In addition to crews from South Portland, Portland, Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth also sent firefighters to help from their departments.
South Portland Fire Chief Mike Williams said the fire started from a refrigeration unit in a trailer that was docked at the warehouse.
Williams said the while the fire never entered the building but there is a lot of smoke inside.
No one was hurt during the fire and no word on how much food was damaged in the blaze.
