SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — A 16-year-old from South Portland who had been reported missing has been located.
South Portland police said in an update Thursday morning that the teen had been found.
"UPDATE: This is no longer a missing case as he was located," police said. "The South Portland Police Department would like to thank the public for their [assistance]."
"The juvenile was found by South Portland Officers early this morning," South Portland police chief Dan Ahern said in a statement sent to NEWS CENTER Maine by South Portland communications officer Shara Dee. "Due to the manner in which they found him, no further investigation is required."
Officials have declined to provide any further information.
In a social media post Wednesday, police had said the teen had last been seen Wednesday morning wearing a brown and green long-sleeved shirt, brown pants, and black converse shoes.
He was riding a red and silver mountain bike at the time he had last been seen, according to police.
