NAPLES, Maine — The Maine Department of Transportation says it will not be able to open the Songo Lock Draw Bridge in Naples until Saturday, May 11.
May 1 is when the state typically begins operating the draw bridge, which allows marine traffic to pass under State Park Road.
The delay is due to high water levels and trees blocking the Songo River, Maine DOT said in a release.
"The department is communicating with other state agencies as we all work toward the new date when the seasonal bridge operation can begin," the release stated.
