Sheriff's office investigating fatal crash in Madison

The 56-year-old woman from Madison was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

MADISON, Maine — A fatal crash that happened Tuesday in Madison is under investigation. 

At approximately 7:45 a.m., the Somerset County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Old County Road involving one person, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. 

An initial investigation revealed 56-year-old Kelly Paskoski of Madison was driving a 2015 Toyota Rav4 south on Old County Road when she veered off the roadway and struck a rock, causing her vehicle to roll over, the sheriff's office said. 

Paskoski was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

The Madison Fire Department assisted the Somerset County Sheriff's Office at the scene.
