TROY, Maine — A man was flown from Troy to a hospital with a fully severed leg Tuesday.
The Waldo County Sheriff's Office responded to 763 Bangor Road in Troy around 10:35 a.m. to assist Unity Ambulance and the Troy Fire Department with a medical call, Lt. Cody Laite said in a release.
First responders provided emergency care to a man who sustained a fully severed leg, the release stated. The man was then flown by LifeFlight of Maine to a hospital for additional medical treatment, according to the release.
Laite said the injury happened in a farming accident. He did not specify the hospital to which the man was taken.
"The circumstances surrounding this incident are not suspicious in nature," Laite said in the release.
