Collision in Sanford involving box truck sends several to hospital

The crash happened in front of the Harry's Convenience Store at 437 Alfred Road.

SANFORD, Maine — Three adults traveling in a passenger vehicle were injured Monday morning in a crash involving a box truck in Sanford.

The crash happened in front of the Harry's Convenience Store at 437 Alfred Road, near the intersection of New Damn Road.

Two people who were injured were brought to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford. The other was flown to Maine Medical Center, Sanford police told NEWS CENTER Maine.

The driver of the truck was not injured, according to police.

Police estimated at 9:30 a.m. that the road would be closed for 90 more minutes. Officials encouraged drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while crews worked to clear the area.

Maine State Police also responded to the scene to reconstruct the crash.
