SACO (NEWS CENTER Maine) — While trying to find the suspects leaving the scene of a reported beating, a Saco Police Officer hit another car.
Police are investigating the crash that happened on Saturday, June 16 around 6:30 p.m. on Flag Pond Road.
Police say they were responding to a 911 call claiming that two to three men were beating another man with a baseball bat and that the men were fleeing the scene in a car heading westbound on Flag Pond Road.
An officer heading to the scene in his cruiser with lights and sirens on, was just west on Hearn Road when he collided with another vehicle sending both cars off the road.
Gorham Police Department is investigating the crash.
The victim of the attack was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland but has since been released.
The aggravated assault is being investigated by the Saco Police Department.
