DIXMONT, Maine — The Maine Warden Service is investigating a fatal ATV crash that happened Saturday in Dixmont.

Patrick LaFlamme, 65, of Richmond reportedly went out hunting on his ATV Saturday morning but did not return to camp for breakfast, prompting his friends to go out looking for him, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife spokesperson Mark Latti said in a news release.

Latti said the friends discovered LaFlamme deceased on an old tote road about one mile off Firetower Road.

"The initial investigation indicates that the ATV LaFlamme was driving rolled over on top of him, causing his death," the release stated.

Shortly after noon Saturday, the Maine Warden Service responded to the scene to assist the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office in an investigation.

The Dixmont Fire Department and Plymouth Fire and Rescue also assisted in the investigation.

LaFlamme's body was taken to Plummer Funeral Home in Augusta.

No additional details were released.
