AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A restaurant known for giving back is at it again.
The Red Barn in Augusta is raising money for Honor Flight Maine, a non-profit that brings Maine veterans to Washington, D.C.
The fundraiser is getting national attention. a crew from NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt is spending Monday at the Red Barn to help tell honor flight stories.
The event was inspired by a story from 91-year-old restaurant patron named Mr. Tuttle, whose best friend Frankie died in battle. Mr. Tuttle hopes Frankie's story can be told at the fundraiser, and live on.
The event is Monday, July 11 from 1-7 PM at the Red Barn.
The restaurant's owner, Laura Benedict, says the food has been donated, so those that visit can pay as little or as much as they want.
