DIXFIELD, Maine — A man from Quebec was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Monday evening after the loaded tanker truck he was driving was involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Dixfield.
Oxford County sheriff's deputies, local first responders, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit responded to the crash in the area of 590 Main Street around 7:10 p.m., according to a news release from the Oxford County Sheriff's Office.
Images of the crash show the tanker truck on its side and resting in the ditch beside the roadway.
The truck was hauling a finishing agent westbound to the Rumford Mill, according to the sheriff's office.
No product or fluid was spilled in the crash, officials said.
The 36-year-old driver from Quebec suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Rumford Hospital, the sheriff's office said. No other injuries were reported.
The sheriff's office said speed and unfamiliarity with the area were contributing factors in the crash.
No charges are expected.
