FALMOUTH, Maine — A man from Windham is facing OUI and driving to endanger charges after a crash on the Maine Turnpike in Falmouth Saturday night.

Maine State Police received a report of a wrong-way driver at mile 53, according to Maine State Police Lt. Aaron Turcotte. Stephan Adams, 30, of Windham was driving a black 2017 Toyota Rav-4 northbound in the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a car headed southbound, Turcotte said.

Police said the crash resulted in minor injuries. A pregnant woman who had been driving the southbound vehicle was evaluated at the scene, then brought to Maine Medical Center "as a precautionary measure." Adams was also brought to Maine Medical Center.

Turcotte said Adams was found to be impaired and was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and driving to endanger.
