PORTLAND, Maine — One woman was brought to the hospital for minor injuries following a single-car crash Tuesday on Interstate 295, delaying traffic for a short time.
Troopers responded to the crash along the northbound median of I-295 near Tukey's Bridge in Portland around 3 p.m., according to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The driver of the SUV reportedly told troopers she fell asleep before hitting the concrete median, and the car came to a stop, blocking the passenger lane, the release stated.
Officials said the driver sustained minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Maine Medical Center by Portland Fire and Rescue.
The crash slowed traffic for approximately 45 minutes until the driver was taken to the hospital and her vehicle was towed, according to the release.
