NAPLES, Maine — No injuries were reported when a tractor-trailer crashed Wednesday evening in Naples.
Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 8 p.m. about a tractor-trailer that went off the road and struck a utility pole on Route 302.
Officials said the crash impacted traffic along Route 302, also called Roosevelt Trail, and Route 11, also called Casco Road.
The driver of the tractor-trailer apparently "misjudged the area" while pulling off onto the shoulder of the eastbound lane of Route 302, causing the vehicle to flip over onto its side and come to rest against a utility pole, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
The driver, a man from Ontario, Canada, was freed by deputies but was otherwise uninjured, officials said in the release.
The road was closed briefly while crews worked to clear the scene.
