NEW SWEDEN, Maine — Maine State Police are still searching for a missing teen from New Sweden, last seen in September.
Stefanie Damron, 14, was reported missing on Sept. 24 and was last seen walking out of her house and into the woods on West Road in New Sweden on Sept. 23, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release. She was 13 when she went missing.
Damron is described as five feet tall, 130 pounds, with green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved blue shirt, and black Harley Davidson hiking boots.
Maine State Police Troop F and the Major Crimes Unit North started investigating the circumstances surrounding Damron's disappearance. The Major Crimes Unit North also collaborated with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit (CCU) and the FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team (CARD).
Moss said despite extensive investigative efforts, Damron is still missing. Investigators have conducted multiple interviews and followed any leads in Maine, nationally, and in Canada.
The Maine Warden Service and Maine State Police K9 Unit have also searched large parcels of land near Damron's last known location, the release stated. The Major Crimes Unit along with the FBI's CARD team will continue to investigate, Moss said.
Anyone with any information about Damron's whereabouts should call the Maine State Police Houlton Barracks at 1-800-924-2261 or 207-532-5400.
