Rockland police call off chase 'for the safety of others'

Police said Dylan McClure, 25, led officers on a pursuit that was called off for the safety of other drivers.

ROCKLAND, Maine — Rockland police are asking the public's help tracking down a man they said fled a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.

Dylan McClure, 25, of Rockland had a warrant for his arrest and was pulled over in his red 2010 Toyota Prius but drove off, according to police. Officers shortly called off the pursuit for the "safety of others on the road."

McClure is wanted on charges including eluding an officer, refusing to submit to arrest, operating after suspension and violating the conditions of release. Police said he has eight sets of bail conditions. He was charged with domestic violence in 2017 and four counts of criminal mischief in 2019.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police at 207-593-9132.

Police shared a photo they said shows McClure's vehicle, which has a Vermont license plate:
