Portland crash leaves pedestrian with life-threatening injuries

Portland police are investigating the crash that involved a man hit by a car on Forest Ave. Wednesday night.

PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian on Forest Ave. 

Police responded to the crash in front of 1396 Forest Ave. around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Thursday press release and social media post made by the department. 

A 59-year-old man from Portland was crossing the street when he was struck by a car, the press release stated. The driver was a 52-year-old man from Portland.

The man who was hit was taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

"The Portland Police Department is investigating the accident and no charges have been filed at this time," the press release stated. 

The Portland Police Department asks anyone who witnessed the crash to call them at 207-874-8532 or 207-874-8575.
