Orrington man charged with OUI after crashing into garage

Police said the driver drove through a garage and struck another vehicle, causing significant damage to the garage and the vehicle that was inside.

ORRINGTON, Maine — A 20-year-old man from Orrington is facing multiple charges after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a garage Thursday.

It happened shortly before 2:15 a.m. on Cleveland Avenue in Orrington, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office said in a release.

Paul Meservey has been charged with operating under the influence, a class D misdemeanor, and operating beyond license restrictions, a class E misdemeanor, according to the release.

Meservey sustained minor injuries in the crash. Nobody else was injured, the release stated.

Deputies said Meservey allegedly drove through a garage and struck another vehicle, causing significant damage to the garage and the vehicle that was inside of it.

The Orrington Fire Department assisted the sheriff's office at the scene.
