Norway woman brought to hospital in rollover Casco crash

A 60-year-old Norway woman was injured after her vehicle rolled several times following a mechanical malfunction, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said.

CASCO, Maine — A woman from Oxford County was brought to the hospital Sunday with injuries sustained in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Casco.

Casco Fire and EMS, along with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, responded to Meadow Road for the crash that happened just before noon, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Officials said Connie Scott, 60, of Norway lost control of a black 2006 Volkswagen Jetta when it experienced a mechanical malfunction, and the vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times.

Scott was extricated from the vehicle and brought to Bridgton Hospital for treatment, the sheriff's office said.

"Ms. Scott was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which likely minimized any further serious injury," according to the sheriff's office.
