BELGRADE, Maine — A shooting in Belgrade that left one woman seriously injured is under investigation.
At approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday, the Augusta Regional Communications Center received a report of a shooting at a home on Point Road in Belgrade, a news release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said.
LifeFlight transported the woman to Maine Medical Center in Portland for "serious injuries," Moss said.
A man was taken into custody and is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
Maine State Police along with Belgrade Rescue and Delta Ambulance personnel responded to the home.
Moss said the shooting was "an isolated incident" and that there is no danger to the public.
