RAYMOND, Maine — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man and woman involved in a reported assault in Raymond over the weekend.

Deputies and the Raymond Fire Department responded to 17 Tower Road for a reported assault at around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release sent out by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office. When they arrived, they learned that the assault took place at 27 Tower Road, and the victim ran to a neighbor for help.

The victim had serious facial and head injuries from the assault with a dangerous weapon, the press release said. They were taken to Bridgton Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect and a woman took off from the area in a Jeep Renegade with Maine Breast Cancer plate number 199-ATY, according to deputies. They identified the man as 46-year-old Jeremy Dunlap of Gray, and the woman in the car as 47-year-old Angelique Tucker, who is unhoused.

A short time later, a deputy spotted the Jeep in the parking lot of the Walmart in Windham. Before other units could arrive to assist, the car left the lot, officials said. The deputy continued to follow it onto River Road in Windham, where they tried to conduct a stop.

The Jeep didn't stop but stayed at or closely within the posted speed limits, according to officials. Deputies attempted to use tire spikes before the car could get into Westbrook but were not successful. The low-speed pursuit was called off due to the risk of the public's safety in the populated area.

However, deputies continued to keep the vehicle in sight as it traveled with the normal flow of traffic, according to the press release. The Westbrook Police Department tried to help by setting up spikes near Sunset Ridge on River Road. A deputy tried to pull the Jeep over before the spikes, but the car did not stop. The spikes were once again unsuccessful.

Deputies continued to follow the vehicle as it went with the flow of traffic into Portland and onto I-95 South, officials said. Two Maine State Police troopers set up tire deflation spikes on the southbound side of the turnpike. Just before the spikes, the vehicle moved into the far right lane and accelerated to 95 mph. Law enforcement then made the decision to terminate the pursuit altogether.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is still searching for Dunlap and Tucker.

Dunlap is wanted for felony aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the press release. He is also facing several other traffic charges. Anyone who sees Dunlap is asked to not approach him and to call 911.

Tucker is not considered a suspect in the assault, but does have two active warrants for her arrest, officials said. Anyone who sees her or knows where she is should call the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at 207-774-5939. You can also email Captain Craig Smith at smith@cumberlandcounty.org.
