Emergency officials respond to Maine Turnpike crash in Wells

It happened in the area of southbound mile 15, according to the Maine Turnpike Authority.

WELLS, Maine — Major traffic delays were expected Monday morning along the southbound lane of Interstate 95 following a multivehicle crash in the area of York and Wells. 

The Maine Turnpike Authority said in an alert first posted around 10:30 a.m. that southbound drivers should expect delays following a multivehicle crash in Wells.

The crash involving several vehicles happened in the area of mile 15, between the York and Wells exits, the turnpike authority said in a release.

Officials said drivers should use caution in the area. As of 10:50 a.m. Monday, the left lane was blocked.

By 11:20 a.m., the alert was lifted, the agency said. 

No information was released on whether there were any injuries or whether the crash was being investigated.
