DAYTON, Maine — Maine State Police is investigating the death of a missing woman who was found Monday in a parked car in Dayton.
Just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday officials received a 911 call reporting a deceased female inside a car parked near Goodwins Mills Road, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a Tuesday release.
Moss said the woman matched the description of 23-year-old Autumn Cleveland, who was reported missing out of Newport News, Virginia.
State officials said there was no danger to the public relating to the case.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death, as well as efforts to positively identify the woman.
