HOLLIS, Maine — A man from Saco was killed Tuesday evening in a crash involving two vehicles in York County.
Maine State Police responded around 5:30 p.m. to a report about a possible fatal crash on Cape Road in Hollis.
An initial investigation into the crash indicates that a Subaru Impreza traveling northbound had pulled into the oncoming lane to make a turn when it was hit by a Dodge Ram traveling southbound, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release. Police said the driver of the truck was unable to stop his vehicle in time and collided with the Subaru.
A passenger in the Subaru, who police identified as 51-year-old Troy Tanguay of Saco, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Subaru was brought to Maine Medical Center for minor injuries, and the driver of the truck did not report any injuries, according to the release.
Cape Road was closed for several hours while police and local emergency officials responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.
NEWS CENTER Maine responded Tuesday night to the scene in Hollis, where roads in the immediate area of the crash were still closed around 7:30 p.m.
