Fatal motorcycle crash in Lebanon under investigation

A resident on River Road apparently discovered the motorcycle crash and two individuals lying in an open field in the early morning hours, police said.

LEBANON, Maine — A motorcycle crash that killed one and injured another Thursday morning in Lebanon is under investigation.

Someone who lived on River Road apparently discovered the motorcycle crash around 5:30 a.m. and found two individuals lying in an open field, the York County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Deputies who arrived at the scene found the apparent driver of the Harley Davidson motorcycle, 32-year-old Joseph Vachon of Rochester, New Hampshire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vachon's passenger, 26-year-old Rhiannon Cooper-Boisvert of Milton, New Hampshire, was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries is unknown.

The sheriff's office is investigating the crash with assistance from Windham police and the Maine State Police.
