BURLINGTON, Maine — A woman and three children were brought to the hospital Tuesday evening after they were injured in a single-vehicle crash in the Penobscot County town of Burlington.

Maine State Police troopers responded to a crash involving a single vehicle on Long Ridge Road around 5:45 p.m., according to a news release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.

The vehicle involved was identified as a 2016 red Chevrolet Equinox and witnesses reported the car hit a curb in Lincoln, where it blew two tires before the crash. The car reportedly continued traveling to Burlington.

Moss said troopers found the vehicle rolled onto its side in the woods with both passenger side tires blown.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 48-year-old Jennifer Harriman of Burlington. Moss said three children, an 8-year-old and two 1-year-olds, were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. All suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, Moss said.

Harriman was brought to Eastern Maine Medical Center by ambulance, one 1-year-old was brought to Easter Maine Medical Center by LifeFlight, and the other 1-year-old and 8-year-old were brought to the Penobscot Valley Hospital by ambulance, according to Moss.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Maine Warden Service, Howland Fire Department, Lincoln Fire Department, and Life Flight assisted, Moss said.
