Pedestrian killed in Buckfield crash

The crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to the Oxford County Sheriff's Office.

BUCKFIELD, Maine — The Oxford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash in Buckfield involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. at 115 Depot St., the sheriff's office told NEWS CENTER Maine.

The pedestrian, a woman, was gravely injured and died at the scene, the sheriff's office said in a release.

Officials do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, the release stated.

No road closures have been enacted in connection with the crash, according to officials.

The sheriff's office said the identities of the driver and pedestrian would not be released until the pedestrian's family has been notified.

Officials ask that anyone who may have information about the crash contact the Oxford County Sheriff's Office.

The Buckfield and Turner fire departments also responded to the scene.
