Yarmouth man dies following crash in Brunswick

A Yarmouth resident died in a two-vehicle crash just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Brunswick Police Department is investigating a fatal crash Wednesday morning on Pleasant Hill Road that claimed the life of a Yarmouth resident.

Brunswick police along with Brunswick Fire and EMS responded shortly before 11 a.m. to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Pleasant Hill Road at the intersection of Baribeau Drive, according to a release from town officials.

Preliminary investigation determined that a man from Harpswell, who was driving a Chevy pickup, was traveling west on Pleasant Hill Road when 75-year-old Donald Harding of Yarmouth pulled out of Barbeau Drive at the intersection and into the path of the pickup truck, according to the release.

Harding died at the scene, but the driver of the pickup truck was not injured, according to the release. 

Police said both drivers were wearing seat belts and airbags were deployed in both vehicles, according to police.
