WEST PARIS, Maine — Residents of West Paris are being advised to boil their water until further notice.
The town issued a boil water order on Wednesday, according to the Maine Division of Environmental and Community Health's website.
West Paris Water District customers are asked to "boil all water for one minute at a rolling boil before drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods, brushing teeth or in any other activity involving consumption of water."
The town said the order will be in effect until further notice.
The Maine Division of Environmental and Community Health cited "inadequate protection of finished water in the reservoir from natural elements" as the reason for the boil water order.
