Teens charged after damaging 30 vehicles in Bangor

The two 18-year-olds were charged with felony aggravated criminal mischief.

BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police on Wednesday said they arrested two teenagers who vandalized dozens of vehicles over the weekend.

An 18-year-old from Plymouth and an 18-year-old from Etna were charged with felony aggravated criminal mischief. The Etna teen was also charged with violating conditions of release related to another case.

Police said the pair admitted to damaging up to 30 vehicles and several garbage cans across Bangor.

Bangor police Sgt. Jason McAmbley said they drove around in a vehicle, got out, and used their fists to damage the vehicles. Several residents submitted doorbell camera footage that showed the teens' vehicle, which helped officers track them down and arrest them Tuesday night.

There was about $3,000 in damage to the vehicles, according to police.

The teens were taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
