Bangor man facing charges after crashing truck onto Greenville soccer field

Police say the truck was discovered flipped over on its roof Thursday morning on the Greenville Consolidated School soccer field.

GREENVILLE, Maine — Greenville police and fire officials responded to a truck flipped over on a local soccer field early Thursday morning.

Officials arrived at the Greenville Consolidated School soccer field around 6:15 a.m. and found an unoccupied truck flipped over onto its roof, the Greenville Police Department said on social media.

Following an investigation, police determined that 22-year-old Charles Martin of Bangor had driven the truck onto the field causing "significant damage" and flipped over around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Police said Martin is cooperating with the investigation and has been charged with aggravated criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and driving to endanger.

The truck was towed from the field with "extensive damage."
