JAY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police confirm an additional search was conducted last month in Jay in the hopes of finding some evidence that could piece together what happened to Kimberly Moreau.

Police said the teen was last seen on May 11, 1986. She had gone out with some friends and investigators said a man named Brian Enman had dropped her off on Jewell Street in Jay in the early morning hours.

State Police said the second search was done privately in the weeks after the public search in Jay. During that initial search, police worked endlessly, turning up soil on the five acre property to let gases from any potential human remains escape so K9 dogs could pick up the scent.

Police are not disclosing what, if anything, was found during the private search.

Moreau's disappearance continues to be an active investigation.
