PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police responded Monday evening to a reported shooting near Dyers Variety Store.
Police said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that the shooting happened in the area of Portland and Alder Streets and confirmed the information in a separate inquiry, though they noted that information would be limited as information as they were continuing to gather investigation.
In a later update on X, Portland police said they made an arrest in connection with the shooting, and that the "victim succumbed to his injuries."
