Minor injuries in crash on Brighton Avenue in Portland

A police officer at the scene told NEWS CENTER Maine he believes the morning sun played a factor in impeding visibility.

PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police closed Brighton Avenue between Jeanne Street and Edgeworth Street Friday morning due to a crash.

A silver Nissan Rogue was taking a left onto Brighton Avenue out of Jeanne Street when it was hit by a vehicle traveling outbound on Brighton Avenue, police told NEWS CENTER Maine.

A police officer at the scene told NEWS CENTER Maine he believes the morning sun played a factor in impeding visibility as the driver of the Nissan pulled out onto Brighton Avenue.

The stretch road of road that was closed during the crash response has since reopened.

All injuries were minor, according to police.
