PORTLAND, Maine — As we're counting down the hours until this year's Super Bowl kickoff, a special pup from Portland is being recognized for his hard work at last year's event.
K9 Alfie is no Puppy Bowl contestant. The five-year-old Springer Spaniel went all the way to Arizona to work last year's Super Bowl with Officer Brooker of the Portland Police Department, the department said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Alfie has been with the Portland Police Department since 2020.
When he's not scoring a touchdown for his team in front of football fans, you can find him at the Portland International Jetport or throughout Cumberland County conducting explosive detection.
