Pedestrian, 62, seriously injured in Portland crash

It happened shortly before 10:15 p.m. Tuesday on Riverside Street, Portland police said.

PORTLAND, Maine — A 62-year-old man was taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries Tuesday night after being hit by a vehicle in Portland.

It happened shortly before 10:15 p.m. on Riverside Street, Portland police said in a release Wednesday.

The man, who's from Portland, was walking in the area when he was struck by a car driven by a 20-year-old woman from Westbrook, the release stated.

Police have not publicly identified either of the people involved.

The crash remains under investigation. As of Wednesday morning, police said no charges had been filed.
