PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Comic book writers, artists, publishers, and enthusiasts gathered in Portland for the 7th annual Maine Comic Art Festival (MeCAF) on Sunday.
More than 100 writers and publishers were on hand to sign comic books and chat with fans. The event featured guests included Box Brown, James Kochalka and Chip Zdarsky.
Event organizers also told NEWS CENTER they hope to have another festival next year. They said the festival is successful because the comic book world is evolving and becoming more popular all the time.
The annual festival began in 2009. MeCAF has been Portland's annual showcase for comic arts.
