Silver Alert issued for missing man in Aroostook County

Police said Edward Bolstridge, 68, suffers from multiple sclerosis and memory issues and that his family is concerned for his safety.

FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Police are searching for a missing man from Fort Fairfield.

Edward Bolstridge, 68, was last seen around 12 p.m. Thursday in the Presque Isle/Westfield area, the Fort Fairfield Police Department said on social media. A Silver Alert was issued Thursday night, stating Bolstridge was headed north towards Presque Isle. 

Police said Bolstridge suffers from multiple sclerosis and memory issues and that his family is concerned for his safety.

Bolstridge is described as a 6-foot-1 white male who weighs 215 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was reportedly last seen wearing a baseball hat, button-down flannel shirt, and jeans. Bolstridge is driving a silver 2016 Kia Soul registered to Maine plates EABI.

Police on Friday said the Maine Warden Service has utilized ground and air assets for most of the day to search rural and wooded areas in the locations where Bolstridge was last seen near Westfield. A wider grid between Route 1, Route 11, and Route 167 has also been searched.

Police added that the U.S. Border Patrol and Maine State Police are assisting in the search.

"We are asking for the public’s help in continuing to be vigilant in searching for Mr. Bolstridge and his vehicle," police said Friday.

In a social media post Sunday, Fairfield police said there were no updates on Bolstridge's location.

"The Maine Warden Service continues to focus ground and air operations and searches for his vehicle," the post stated. "The Maine Forest Service conducted air searches yesterday with no sightings. Please remain vigilant in searching for Mr. Bolstridge and his vehicle."

Fort Fairfield police ask anyone who sees Bolstridge or his vehicle to call them at 207-472-3808 or your local law enforcement agency.
